Reflexology is a form of bodywork that focuses primarily on the feet. The underlying theory behind reflexology is that there are "reflex" areas on the feet and hands that correspond to specific organs, glands, and other parts of the body. For example: the tips of the toes reflect the head, the heart and chest are around the ball of the foot, the liver, pancreas and kidney are in the arch of the foot. Practitioners believe that applying pressure to these reflex areas can promote health in the corresponding organs through energetic pathways.

The massage promotes relaxation, improves circulation, reduces pain, soothes tired feet, and encourages overall healing.

Gua sha meaning "scraping sha-bruises", is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing. Gua sha involves repeated pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge. Skin is typically lubricated with massage oil and commonly a ceramic Chinese soup spoon was used, or a well worn coin, even honed animal bones, water buffalo horn, or jade. A simple metal cap with a rounded edge is commonly used.

Gua Sha provides rapid pain relief for a variety of conditions whether acute or chronic. It is extremely effective in treating musculo-skeletal problems and fibro-myalgia. Traditionally it has also been used to treat disorders such as the common cold, bronchitis and asthma.

Cupping therapy has been used extensively in Chinese medicine for several thousand years. There are two main cupping techniques: stationary and moving. Stationary cups are placed on the skin and left for a period of 5 to 15 minutes in one location, or four to six cups may be applied and removed cyclically. Moving is the more commonly used form of cupping among massage therapists. Prior to applying the cup, oil is administered to the skin to facilitate smooth movement and palpably discover the areas of tension and congestion. The sensation of cupping is often characterized as deep warmth and tingling, long after the treatment has ended. Cupping is not an irritant to the skin or body.

Cupping is claimed to treat a broad range of medical conditions such as blood disorders, rheumatic diseases, fertility and gynaecological disorders, and skin problems. Also it is claimed by proponents to help general physical and psychological well-being. Massage cupping is also effective in treating cellulite.

Tok Sen is a combination of two words, Tok means the sound from the wooden wedge and the mallet, working on the body and Sen means the energy lines of the body. This is an ancient healing art used by the people of northern Thailand. Tok sen is tapped on the energy lines. A particular rhythm is followed in a series of two taps or continous motion along the line. The tapping results in a deep, resonating vibration which travels through the body, felt long after the treatment is over. The wood is sacred and believed to remove negative energies. This therapy is used in combination with massage.

Tok Sen relieves physical aches and pains, removes energy blockages, improves blood circulation and provides relaxation.

Lymphatic drainage is an important part of lympdoedema treatment. It’s a form of massage that helps stimulate the lymphatic system and encourages the flow of lymph fluid. The lymph system is a slow-moving system of vessels and lymph nodes that is supplementary to the body's system of blood circulation. The lymph system both delivers nutrients to the cells and carries away excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins. When you have the massage you feel a gentle pressure. It is not a deep massage. The movements are slow and rhythmic so the lymph vessels open up. The aim of the massage is to move fluid from the swollen area into an area where the lymphatic system is working normally.

This type of massage is good for detoxification and edema. It can also help with cellulite treatments, scar tissue, spider veins, redness and acne.
