The grant competition of the Foundation Domus Dorpatensis in 2007

In 2007 the scholar of Domus Dorpatensis was Virve Kluust, the chairwoman of the Village Association of the municipality Koeru.

Virve Kluust is an active pensioner who has been spending her time, energy and personal resources on promoting the life in herlife, on writing projects and on organizing trainings with the received money in cooperation with other associations of Koeru municipality of Järva county. Thanks to this kind of cooperation, many young people have come back to live in the countryside again.   

The members of the grant commission were the head of department of Public Administration at the University of Tartu Kristiina Tõnnisson, Deputy Major of Tartu Jüri Sasi, the manager of the Centre for Science Studies of the Estonian University of Life Sciences Erki Tammiksaar and the scholar of 2006 Mart Hiob.

The award ceremony of the citizens grant of Domus Dorpatensis took place in the winter garden of the Tallinn National Opera at the reception of the Minister for Population and Ethnic Affairs Urve Palo, where also the Citizen of the Year was announced. Domus Dorpatensis thanks the Office of the Minister for Population and Ethnic Affairs for the good cooperation.
